INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE

Well, a bit late writing a post on IPL which started a good 15days back.But nevertheless,here it is on the booming IPL.Started blazingly on apr 18 at the chinnaswamy stadium,bengaluru.But it took a lot of thinking by the master planner Mr.Lalit Modi to have such a fantastic tourny running.The multi billioneer,Mukesh Ambani bought mumbai for the highest bid in the bidding process.Next is the hyderabad team by the Deccan chronicle group.Similarly bangalore by Vijay mallya,Delhi by the GMR group,Kolkata by Shahrukh khan,chennai by india cements group,rajasthan by the Emerging media,punjab by ness wadia and preity zinta.
Next its the players turn to be available for the bidding process.Sachin,Ganguly,Dravid and Sehwag got the ICON status for their teams and will be getting the highest pay in their teams.Dhoni was the costliest player who was bought into the chennai team by the india cements group.Andrew symonds was the costliest foreign player and was bought into the hyderabad team bythe deccan chronicle group.Like wise other players got into their respective teams.Every thing was according to the plan till then.Now what was left is the tornament to begin.Everyone were eagerly waiting for it to happen and i certainly did.But before that happened there were news and pictures in the papers showing SRK and priety zinta sitting alone to sell the tickets but no one's ready to buy them.There was the first doubt on the success of IPL.Breaking all barriers IPL went onto AIR on apr 18.
IT was apr 18th,7pm IST.Every one tuned into their TV's to get the first look of IPL.And the first impression they got is that it was BUMPER HIT.The crowd that turned on were huge.Not a single seat was available in the stadium.Various events were being conducted by the organisers(most of them were sponsered by mallya.Then it was the turn to introduce the team captains to the crowd.That job was taken by Ravi Shastri.The emotion with which he was saying each name alone proved the effort they've put into to make it a success.The speech by ravi shastri was a highlight that day and tears ran down my eyes seeing the emotions on his face while he was speaking.

Before the first match begun,in the prematch show,jadeja the anchor was showing players of all the teams and asked Robin Jackman to pick his team.Robin Jackman replied "i tell you what,i saw adam gilchrist,shahid afridi,andrew symonds,hershelle gibbs in one team",and that was the hyderabad team added jadeja.Even everyother person would have thought the same seeing their batting lineup.But you know whats their position till now?
who will win?
The first match begun between bangalore and the kolkata.When the players bidding process was finished everybody congratulated vijay mallya for picking the BEST TEST TEAM.And indeed that team was like a test team consisting jaffer,kallis,anil kumble,chaderpaul,sunil joshi and ofcourse lead by rahul dravid.Everyone was sure that kolkata would end up as a winning team and so was the result.
Now if we come to my order of who might be the champion,the first team will be
KINGS XI PUNJAB.
The reason why i think punjab will be the champs is that i find a lot of TEAM WORK between them.Although simon katich and brett lee left,the team looks very balanced.The srilankan pair of mahela jayawardene and kumar sangakkara further add to their strength.Now with marsh coming in,their batting lineup looks even stronger viz,marsh,sarwan,mahela,sangakara,yuvi,tanmay srivatsava and the rest.Their bowling lineup is also great with irfan pathan leading along with sreesanth.Ofcourse piyush chawla is also performing brilliantly off late.
My next favorite team would be the DELHI DARE DEVILS.
I think the perfect name for their team lead by virender sehwag.Their middle order has not been exposed many times till now but i think they dont have to since they've got such players top up.Viru,gambhir and shikhar dhawan.And i have to tell you that dhawan is a terrific batsment.The first time i saw him was 5yrs back in the under19 world cup where he was virtually mudering all bowlers.The bowling ofcourse is lead by the experianced Mcgrath,Asif.Now with the addition of AB devilliers the delhi dare devils will go deep into the tournament.
The next team would be the RAJASTHAN ROYALS
lead by shane warne,the team has performed extremely well till now.And i think the australian team has missed out a great captain in Shane warne.While everyother team is becoming weaker loosing their trumpcards,this team is growing stronger by the addition of the foreign players.with yusuf pathan performing like he is now,i thing this team has a way in this tournament.Their batting lineup is extremely good having asnodkar,kaif,yusuf pathan,graeme smith,ravinder jadeja and shane watson.Their bowling is OK with shane warne,tanvir,watson and the rest.And the TEAM WORK which i found in the punjab team can be found in plenty here too..
the next team would be the HYDERABAD DECCAN CHARGERS
no one would have thought that the hyderabad team would be in a position where it is in now.What could be the reason?The first thing i found is that the captaincy is not good.Laxman is not good in captaincy role.There is no commanding in his work.And there is no team work here or neither any team plan.It has got great players individually but as a team,they fail because there is no simulation between them..they have played five games till now and won only one.But there is still a long way to go in this tournament and i still think that the chargers have a place in the semi's.They are at number 4 for me.
followed by the CHENNAI SUPER KINGS
krishnamachary srikanth would feel very sad if he has seen my rankings.Every one else would have deffinitely thought that i might have forgotten about chennai team,but i have not.This team has played 4 games till now and won all of them.But there is still long way to go.They now got serious problems with leaving of matthew hayden and michael hussey.They have got a great captain in mahendra singh dhoni,and the only reason should chennai appear in the semi's will be becouse of dhoni.He has really impressed many people by his captaincy.The coolness which he has on the field is marvellous.
the next will be KOLKATA NIGHT RIDERS
Sorry king khan.After seeing the blazing start they got in the opening match most of us would bet on them to be the champions,but now they got some serious problems.The batting which looked deadly before is looking very weak now.But they have the potential to be go to the semi's even now.Actually i could not choose between chennai and kolkata and their places are inter changeable.
the next would be the BANGALORE ROYAL CHALLENGERS ,Nothing much to say about them actually.They have failed to make any impression in any one's mind.
the last will be the MUMBAI INDIANS.Who knows their luck maight change once the master enters the tournament.But i think now its too late for them.
